WE'RE HIRING – CHEMIST (WATER TREATMENT & LABORATORY)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chemist to support our water treatment operations through advanced laboratory analysis, chemical testing, research, and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality, treatment efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in analytical chemistry, water quality testing, chemical analysis, and laboratory procedures, with the ability to apply scientific knowledge to support water treatment solutions and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory research, chemical analysis, and testing to evaluate water treatment processes and ensure product quality and safety standards.

• Perform water quality testing and analysis, including chemical composition, treatment efficiency, and process performance monitoring.

• Develop, validate, and improve laboratory testing methods and procedures.

• Analyse chemical properties and reactions to support water treatment process development and troubleshooting.

• Monitor and evaluate treatment chemicals, formulations, and dosing requirements to achieve optimal performance.

• Prepare laboratory reports, technical documentation, and recommendations based on test results.

• Investigate laboratory findings and provide solutions for process optimisation and quality improvement.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and compliance documentation.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, conduct calibration checks, and ensure testing accuracy and reliability.

• Support research and development activities for new water treatment products and technologies.

• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and operational teams to provide technical support and chemical expertise.

• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.

• Postgraduate qualifications in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Water Treatment will be an advantage.

• Minimum 10+ years' experience in laboratory research, chemical analysis, and water treatment testing methods.

• Strong understanding of chemical properties, reactions, analytical techniques, and laboratory practices.

• Experience with water quality testing, chemical dosing analysis, and treatment process evaluation.

• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling, and environmental compliance requirements.

• Experience using laboratory instruments and analytical testing equipment.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate technical reports.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineering and operational teams.
