WE'RE HIRING – CHEMICAL ENGINEER (WATER TREATMENT)

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chemical Engineer (Water Treatment) to lead the design, operation, and optimisation of water treatment systems. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in water treatment processes and experience managing the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment.

This role requires a technically capable professional who can ensure efficient plant performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across a range of water treatment applications, including wastewater, drinking water, boiler water, and cooling tower systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, operate, and optimise water treatment processes for wastewater, drinking water, boiler water, and cooling tower systems.

• Monitor and analyse treatment plant performance to ensure consistent operation, efficiency, and compliance with environmental and quality standards.

• Develop treatment processes, chemical dosing strategies, and operational procedures to improve system performance.

• Oversee the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment.

• Provide technical guidance on water treatment solutions, process improvements, and troubleshooting of plant operations.

• Conduct water quality assessments, process evaluations, and performance testing.

• Manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and long-term performance of treatment systems.

• Review engineering designs, technical specifications, and equipment selections for water treatment projects.

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

• Prepare technical reports, operational documentation, and recommendations for management and clients.

• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Support research and implementation of new technologies and sustainable water treatment solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering; postgraduate qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Treatment are an advantage.

• Minimum 10+ years' experience in water treatment processes, including wastewater, drinking water, boiler water, and cooling tower water systems.

• Proven experience in the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment.

• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, chemical dosing systems, filtration, membrane technologies, and treatment processes.

• Experience with plant troubleshooting, optimisation, and process improvement.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process flow diagrams.

• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work with technical teams and clients.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
